The FWBHS Theatre department Strives to provide meaningful, educational, and fun theatrical performances in the Okaloosa County area. The department consists of all grade levels and is an interconnected group of young artists who help create the magic of live performance.
Throughout the year the FWBHS Theatre Department produces Three full-length shows, This Years fall play was "The Beverly HillBilly's," and our department is opening our spring musical "Lightning Thief, The Percy Jackson Musical," in February. The last performance of the year will be The advanced Theatre class Production of "Real Inspector Hound" on the stage in May.
In the advanced class, the entire first semester is dedicated to preparing for competition. The whole class works together to bring individual pieces as well as a one-act play. During the 2nd semester, a select group of highly ranked students will compete in one of the world's biggest High school Thespian Competitions, The Florida International Thespian competition.
This year alone the FWBHS theatre department walked away with multiple superior ratings and will represent the district with a historical play at the state level, read more below.
Our goal with our TYA or Theatre for young program is to bring theatre to young audiences around the Okaloosa area. to create a meaningful experience and foster a love for art and playfulness for generations to come. Check out the upcoming TYA production Jack and the Beanstalk coming in May 2025!
